Community Groups Wanted!

26/08/08

The Caloundra Music Festival invites community groups, sports clubs, schools, creative groups, dance groups, bands, musicians and amateur street performers to join in the celebrations at the Caloundra Music Festival.

Festival Director, Richie Eyles said there was a wealth of opportunities for local community groups and individuals to participate in the festival this year through a new initiative called The Village of Diversity.

The Village will set up alonside the beautiful Kings Beach, just outside the main festival arena, and will feature free community entertainment.

'We are looking for local clubs, schools and community groups to march, dance, sing, drum and strut their stuff in the Village, which will also feature roving street performers, an old fashioned beach-side carnival, buskers and free children's entertainment', said Mr Eyles.

Community groups are invited to set up food stalls in the Village, providing a valuable fundraising opportunity.

If you or your community group are interested in getting involved, please send your expression of interest via email to the festival team at communityevents@sunshinecoast.qld.gov.au with your area of interest in the subject line, eg. PARADE or FOOD STALL
